Northern Maine Pictures Winter 2006![]() From Mount Katahdin north to Aroostook County and the St. John Valley. Although winter doesn't officially start until December 21, Maine's winters can start as early as October, and certainly by November. When high day time temperatures are in the 30's, there's snow on the ground, and the weather man starts talking about wind chills Maine's unofficial winter is definately here. The pictures in this section of our site were taken either in late 2005 or early 2006. The pictures on these pages were taken in Aroostook County Maine in just about any type of Northern Maine winter weather we can get.
